Maat (Yoga of Righteous Action) Study & Practice Group

Overview
The Maat Yoga of Righteous Action group is a study & practice group designed to provide an opportunity for participants to practice Maat philosophy in daily life through listening, reflecting upon (living in accord), and meditating on (experiencing) the teachings. These activities reflect aspects of the Ancient Egyptian yogic tradition that promote positive spiritual evolution.

Goals
Participants of the group will be able to demonstrate the ability to
* Describe Maat Philosophy – Yoga of Righteous Action as an aspect of an integral yoga practice
* Demonstrate practice of the philosophical virtues, principles and precepts of Maat philosophy in daily life
* Discuss the experience of practicing the philosophy in daily life as well as hekau, breath and meditation practices

Role of the facilitator
To present Maat philosophy and integral yogic teachings
To stimulate group discussion
To provide guidance and feedback to participants
To serve as a non-judgmental guide to participants
To provide a compassionate, accepting, and respectful space for sharing
To foster Khunum Nefer – good association with people of shared interest in Kemetic teachings

To be compassionate and non-judgment to self and others

Meeting Format

Welcome
Opening Hekau
Listening to Teachings – Facilitator presents or reviews text, audio, video regarding Maat Philosophy. Participants may read materials outside of group meeting time.
Reflecting on Teachings – Group participants share experiences of practicing Maat in daily life; facilitator coaches on the integral practice
Meditating on Teachings – Facilitator leads the group in breathing and/or meditation exercises
Question & Answers
Closing Hekau
Peace & Blessing Offering

Implementation of this program is something I would like to initiate in the coming months perhaps January 2019.
