TTOA Lesson 9 Reading Assignment
1- Which hieroglyphic term covered in this lesson was most captivating to you personally and why?
Here we see in the lesson as Sebai Maa puts it: “A futile attempt by Ra to dissuade Aset”
For me the most captivating and also important hieroglyphic term in these verses is “djed” n a ren a k” from Verse 79 transliterated to “Tell to me name yours” or contextually as “Tell me your name!” This term was given to us at last year’s conference on a scroll that Sebai Maa and Seba Dja shared with us all. These are very special words of power, Hekau that Aset uses. So she knows there is more than what Ra is telling her, much more behind his Creator persona and this is the “Ra” she wants to know the name of. By knowing the name we do not mean just the Ren or what we call something but knowing the true essence behind it. Like if someone wanted to know what chocolate ice cream tastes like another person who has had it may say, “it is creamy, cold, and has a cocoa flavor.” But once you tried it you can now know what creamy, cold and cocoa tastes like by your experiencing it. That is what Aset is asking Ra by knowing his name, his true Divine nature to experience it for herself.
Now as we see in further verses Ra is not willing to give out this information. He tries to dissuade Aset with continuing to give her more explanations of his name. But Aset is persistent and also continues with “djed n a ren a k” Hekau which is what we also must do, and not be dissuaded either.
