Level 1-Lesson 2A
Intro to SN short part 2b.mp4
The most important themes listed are:
I. Public/Private Worship:
There were 2 forms of worship.
1.Public worship-Done by the priests and priestesses in the outer or inner court. Ordinary people weren’t allowed.
2, Private practice of worship- where each person created their own personal private alter space for their offering of devotion, studies and reflections. This is how it was done in ancient times & still practiced today.
II. MEDITATION:
The earliest form of meditation recorded in history inscribed in the tomb of Seti I. Subscribed instructions for the aspirant to sit in a posture, visualization of sitting in the center of a circle not moving & chanting while meditating. Further information can be found in the Glorious Light Meditation book.

III. Maat Philosophy: How to understand Maat philosophy in terms of how to reason & know how the world works, how to apply reason, feelings & how to think. The preceptor is like a troubleshooter. Understanding how to apply the philosophy & surrendering.

The judgement scene picture was discussed. Judgement of the Soul from the papyri text called Pert M Heru-Known as the Book of the Dead or Coming Forth by Day. Shows Asar, Seker & Asar in his king form of the Netherworld,Where everyone go when they die.

The judgement is carried out on balanced scales On one end there’s the
feather of maat & on the other end is the person’s heart. The heart is represented as a vessel, which contains the person’s thoughts, feelings, desires & remnants of past actions.

A.If the heart is heavy with worry, anxiety, unrighteousness, guilt, lies & desire. This will weigh the scales down & the maat feather will go up. Signifying this is an unrighteous soul & the person will suffer in the Netherworld. This doesn’t mean evil but ignorance, acting out of error born of the selfishness-egoism. If the person isn’t righteous, they’re reincarnated to live in this world again.

B. If the balance scales are even, it means the person has a good soul but wasn’t perfect in the world. The judgement is to be a servant of Asar.

C. If the heart goes down & it’s lighter than the feather. This mean the person will sit on the throne, becoming one with Asar. This fate teaching about the soul & after death comes from the Myth of Sa Asar.

THE POSTURES – SEMA TAWI-Disciplines of the Postures: Glorious Legacy of ancient Kemet

A. Interval Practice-each one of the personality is balanced. There are 5 phases: like a journey

POSTURES – SEMA TAWI
1. Creation-Khepri
2. Earth phase
3. Transition phase-animals, elements & horses
4. Higher self poses
5. Establishing self in the Higher Self & higher teaching poses
B. Knowledge + experience = Wisdom.
C. Intuition- not using the intellect- Having an “A-ha moment”

• Wisdom teaching/philosophy allows one to develop & purify the intellect to reach that intuitional level of understanding a particular subject. The aspirant must-listen- to the teaching, reflect upon the teaching -discuss & meditate-become one with it.

WHAT IMPRESSED ME MOST:

The understanding, that wisdom is actually knowledge + experience and it takes more than information for one to be considered wise.

This got me to thinking about a time when the older generation was considered to be wise. How much does this hold true today? Who do the younger generation have to look up to or learn from? Do they even care anymore? The younger generation seems to think they have it all figured out & depending on the state of the older generation, do they even want to listen to their words of advise? Then they will, hopefully live to be an elder too, how wise will they be? Respect of the older generation has decreased so much in this day & age as well.
