The repeated effort is in applying dispassion and detachment which necessarily means detaching from egoistic ways of seeing life including desires and hatreds so as to leg go of the illusions of life. Then also repeated effort in practice of the shedy disciplines including right ethical living, thinking in ways consistent with the teaching, turning the heart of devotion to god instead of loving worldly things and ideals and meditating on the Divine in the form as pictured and then as abstractly defined; and finally as source of one’s very self. So the repeated effort is in stripping away the delusions and obstructions and the meditation is to concentrate exclusively on the truth of existence and achieve supreme peace (HTP). With this effort there is infallible eventual success. Now the rest are necessary details to understand what needs to be repeated; beyond that it is up to the effort of the individual.
