This is a good summary of the nature and usages of the Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic writing system. Just to highlight one issue, the term “tat” and its significance in Ancient Egyptian writing is monumental in that if the glyphs are “tats” or images, reflections, appearances or representations of realities, then we cannot ascribe abiding importance to the writings themselves but rather to the realities they represent. So we are immediately to realize when reading the Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs that we are working with concepts that are higher realities than the references of the writings themselves. Therefore, when using them, reciting, chanting, studying, reading or referencing them, we are to think, reflect, converse and cognize in a world of intellectual elevation even if we are referring to mundane or practical realities of time and space.
