LEVEL 1, LESSON 3 AUDIO ASSIGNMENT- GS13 DR MUATA ASHBY INTERVIEW REMIX SHOW 2:35:46
WHAT ARE THE MAIN TEACHINGS BROUGHT OUT IN THE AUDIO RECORDING LECTURE?
– Awakening and reconstruction of African Spirituality, which has been forgotten about through the course of time due to many factors.
-How the philosophy is needed to achieve a higher moral & ethical conscience, along with a recognition of one’s true divine purpose/nature as opposed to being trapped in the lower forces/egoism, believing i am a seperate being, disconnected from others and God, full of sadness, frustration etc.
-Many religions are limited due to the exoteric aspect/literalism and lack of mysticism, which in turn leads one to ignorance and through this ignorance, imposition of faith,(having to always convert others) wars, gender inequality etc. occur. One must learn to go deeper into the exoteric to discover the esoteric meanings, which ultimately (through proper guidance & understanding) lead to enlightenment.
-The idea of Nebt het is one of physical nature and Asar witnesses this expression of physicality through her. Once Asar realizes his true divine nature and the illusion of the physical world, he than transcends it and becomes one with his true nature which is Asar/Neberdjer.
-Ethical Conscience/Maat is the developing structure to obtaining true peace & harmony in the world.
-Infusion of different cultures/faiths like Islam is contradicting due to literal interpretations, lack of mysticism and ethical conscience which creates unrest through ignorance of the divine.
ARE YOU CURRENTLY IMPLEMENTING THE TEACHING GIVEN IN THE BOOK AND THE LECTURE? IF SO WHICH ONES?
I currently am practicing devotional service as often as possible (Offerings, recitations, Chanting, divine singing, listening to teachings, reflection, & simple meditation) & i follow the devotional service videos to get a better comprehension of the ritual along with a better pronunciation of recitations, hekau and divine singing. I also make sure to chant Om Amun Ra Ptah 4 times when unable to do devotion. I also practice selfless service/developing ethical conscience in my daily practice.
If not than how will you implement the teachings you are not currently practicing in your life & spiritual practice?
I have been dealing with frustration with regards to work and the unstable schedule i have. Certain days i am able to do morning & afternoon devotion, some others only morning & evening and on the weekends only morning. I feel it has been a hinderance to my progression, though i still am putting action into it.
