How should a spiritual aspirant think about their capacity to control “Externalized consciousness” and their ability to rise above their conditioning of the past?

A spiritual aspirant has the capacity to control “externalized consciousness” and to rise above past conditioning. Past conditioning tells us to search for truth and meaning outside ourselves. However, through practicing the disciplines of yoga, we can reverse the flow of consciousness and develop internalized consciousness. Through internalized consciousness, the Self is revealed as the aspirant’s true identity.
