Level 1 Lesson 3, Audio, GS13- Dr Muata Ashby Interview About his work and philosophy, 2:00:00

1.What are the main teachings brought out in the audio lecture recording? Explain in your own words

•Why is this work important? A: Brings back a culture of life to African history and human history which has been forgotten or put aside. The African proverbial wisdom is a part of all African wisdom, similar to Confucianism of China or Dhamma of Buddhism. The issue with the wisdom is that its still known in Africa but many people struggle to actually live it.

•Is Egyptian Yoga different then Indian Yoga in terms of its pursuit and goal ( union with individual and cosmos.)? A :Sema has the same meaning as Yoga; the union of the higher and lower self. In essence the goal is the same with every yoga system.

•“What is creation?” A: According to Ancient Myth ( idealistic story that conveys wisdom on origin and culture), there are some fundamental correct ideas ( nothingness into something by an intelligence) for the purpose of having an avenue for human life to experience existence. From a Metaphysical perspective, if one goes into certain yogic techniques, meditation, and philosophy one will discover somewhat like what the Quantum Physicists are finding regarding the illusion of materiality. Creation is no more real than a dream, its longer and more protracted than an ordinary dream.

•“Who created creation?” A: That intelligent and ultimate being that is the substratum of all creation.

•“What is the purpose of creation?” A: To experience Being.

•“How important is studying the myth?” A: It’s so important that a society without a proper myth to live by will self-destruct. The importance of the esoteric aspects of myth. To activate this you need a qualified teacher to go to the essence of the myth.

2.Are you currently implementing the teaching given in the book and the lecture? if so which ones(s)

•I practice three-fold daily worship, glorious light, and tef neteru. I often only do 1-2 sessions. Through the online courses I am also strengthening my daily study and reflection.

3.If not then how will you implement the teachings you are not currently practicing, in your life and spiritual practice.

-I am focusing on being more consistent with the Three-fold practice and Tef Neteru, Glorious Light Meditation, and study and reflection on the teachings. An important piece for me now is aligning myself with the Precepts of Maat.
