Level 1 – Lesson 6 – Audio assignment: GREAT TRUTHS of SN chant.MP3
1-What are the main teachings brought out in the audio lecture recording? Explain in your own words
That Neberdjer is the Supreme Being, the ultimate essence of creation as well as creation itself. That Neberdjer as One manifest in everything in creation in the form of God and Goddesses. So Neberdjer is everywhere. Everything is Divine. Due to ignorance of this, the personality of human beings lack righteousness causing negative qualities (fetters of set) to develop in them. It is through devotion to the Divine that these negative qualities can be alleviated so one can be free from them. The Shedy disciplines is what leads to this liberation and the result is Nehast, which is knowing the Divine and knowing oneself. This is being True of Speech, being in one accord with all that is.
2-Are you currently implementing the teaching given in the book and the lecture? If so which one(s)?
I am implementing the disciplines of Shedy more consistently than before. Even though I don’t always do the the full worship service three times a day, I remember the different worship times throughout the day and pay homage to my Higher Self at those times purposefully and try to complete it with the chant “ Amun Ra Ptah”. I find it easy to study the wisdom teachings but now I spend a little more time reflecting and pondering on them instead of moving on. I am also re reading some that I have already read which the teachings says to do and I am finding more subtle understanding from them than I did before. I am also practicing Maat Ari by being mindful of my thoughts and actions towards myself and others.
3-If not then how will you implement the teachings you are not currently practicing, in your life and spiritual practice?
Though I am practicing the discipline of meditation daily, I find that meditation is not one of the disciplines that I would opt to do naturally. I have to remember and make myself do it while the others my mind seem to now gravitate to naturally and like doing. I’m mindful of this. In regard to actions and Maat, just when I thought I had it figured out, that if I act with wisdom (Aset) my actions would automatically be Maatic, I was faced with a situation just last night where I didn’t know if I should act or not or what action to take if I do so I chose not to act at all. During the situation the wisdom teachings were coming to me but I think I spent too much time processing which one applied to the situation and the situation was over before I could act. Though I know not all situations require me to act, the fact that I wasn’t sure what action to take is something I want to work on which I think will increase the more I get to know the Neteru.
