Egyptian Clergy Book Report Pg 153-161

A clergy is a servant of The Divine with a duty of maintaining the daily, monthly and annual rituals of the temple for the movement of human existence toward higher consciousness. In order to perform the duties of God, a clergy must know the language of God. This requires a working knowledge of the first language, Medu Neter, as it is said to transform the mind through its transformative power. This allows the clergy to provide appropriate teachings that lead to a life that seeks to know God. The Medu Neter writings are organized as scriptures that bring forth the myths, mystic philosophy, rituals, and wisdom teachings. Sacred writings are important. Its importance is diminished when regarded as primitive and when it lacks qualified teachers. For those who are fortunate to realize the teachings are alive and pertinent to current life, who have a qualified teacher, and can keep it separate from other traditions, the teachings offer a path towards transcendence. Our ancient teachings were practiced throughout the pre and dynastic periods from the Old Kingdom to the Coptic Era. The symbol of Medu is the staff indicating that speech is a support that sustains the Divine in time and space. The sacred speech comes from the heart and mind of God and contains the wisdom of the divine. Purifying one’s ego personality and mastering the Medu leads to the ability to be true of speech, Kheru. At this point, one’s speech becomes a dynamic expression of one’s divine essence. When the word is chanted, sung, or performed in worship, it becomes a religious practice. Some of these chants, invocations, and recitations are found in the Medu Neter.

The art of worship requires one to practice at one’s appropriate level of spiritual evolution. To be close to one’s transcendental essence. You become what you worship, purifying the emotions prepares one for higher worship beginning with the lower divinities.

Another duty of the clergy is the performance of ceremonies through temple theater reenacting the myths. When a cleric enters the temple, they have an immersive experience with the hieroglyphics. The hieroglyph becomes a code containing the philosophy programmed within it. Worship activates the programming within the code. Studying the word of God with understanding and purified feelings leads to the ability to think as God, becoming more and more one’s true self.
