Assignment for Hemu class 03/10/2021 Pgs. 36-38.
Udja Sebai Maa, Sba Dja, Hmu! The prevailing theme in this assignment is “Living by Truth”. To commence this missive, I would begin by sharing an abstract of the words of Sage Amenemope.
“Give your heart, hear the sayings, Give your heart to understand them. It is an advantage to put them in your heart. If you neglect them, you will suffer, Let them rest in the container of your belly…”
What stood out in the readings was the recognition of what not living by truth causes in ones life, however it offers a stratagem of living by truth and its inherent. To follow truth, one of the key insights is a willingness to let go. That letting go is a process, meaning the more evident and tangibles are easy to observe and work on. However, it’s the miniscule and oft times the overlooked, that can create the not so easily recognized dissonance. (In this regard).
In a societal sense, the overlooking by the populace of the wrongdoing of their leaders has lead to a communal dissonance. Being overridden by effigies of material wealth, greed, entertainment, the community finds it hard to believe that their leaders are lying to them for whatever reason. Who themselves are blindsided by their own inhibitions. So we have a society that gives and reciprocates ignorance and it becomes arduous to accept much less change trajectory.
So what are the balms for change, to follow truth. Sebai in his dissemination offers the solution. Mature willingness to face the errors of society. But not just what society dictates, but what ones own personality dictates. In essence, you are the rudder for your own journey and faulting society without accepting one own responsibility is a recipe for uhem ankh.
In conclusion, one must exercise the inertia to be accepting of the higher truth, that will dislodge the ignorance and dogma and supplant it with a wisdom and knowledge that is worthy of your process of cleansing and purifying.
“… a society/culture that is devoid of a positive societal philosophy of life which promotes ethical human treatment can leave a society vulnerable to manipulation and exploitation…” Sebai Maa
