Udja,

The Ancient Egyptian, priests and priestesses performed a metaphysical analysis of the mind and its various regions and modes of ascertainment. That is to say, they were able to delineate the various modes of consciousness and write their findings in hieroglyphic text, duplicate pictographically for study and spiritual research. One of the most enigmatic aspects of the mind is referred to as Restaou by the religious and mythic scripture of the Ancient cleric hierophants. This region of mind is mentioned in the Papyrus Text often referred to as the Egyptian Book of the Dead and also in the Amt Duat Text commonly referred to as the Netherworld guides which appear on the walls of burial places of Pharaohs at the Valley of the Kings, Luxor.
