Reading Assignment (Lesson 22- pgs. 125-140)
Pg. 125- The Kemetic term “uaa” means Meditation
How should a spiritual aspirant think about their capacity to control “Externalized consciousness” and their ability to rise above their conditioning of the past?
– By practicing the disciplines of yoga, specifically Meditation, an aspirant will begin to reverse the flow of consciousness from within moving outward back to itself (moving inward). The mind then acts as a mirror which reveals the true Self.
By internalizing consciousness an aspirant will begin to understand that the conditioning of the past were due to ignorance- unaware that there are deeper levels to their being and the fact that physical reality is not “physical”, but matter of energy. By practicing and implementing the yoga disciplines of Meditation and others, an aspirant will begin to discover and experience the “hidden” aspect of themselves which is beyond thoughts.
Pg. 127- The practice of meditation allows one to create what?
– Higher awareness which affects all aspects of one’s life. It gives the aspirant experiential knowledge of his/her true Self.
Pg. 129- The “normal” state of human consciousness cannot be considered as “whole” or complete.
Pg. 131- When you fall asleep, you “believe” that the dream world is “real”.
Pg. 133- Do not eat for at least 2 hours before meditation.
Pg. 135- When you feel anger or other negative qualities, what should you do?
– Recite a hekau and visualize its energy and the deity associated with it destroying the negativity within you.
Pg. 137- As intuitional vision of your all-encompassing nature dawns in your heart, you will be able to look beyond what?
– All the different sizes, shapes, sexes, and colors of people and recognize your Higher Self (Neberdjer) as the basis for their existence.
Pg. 139- What is the Kemetic term for Devotion?
